Epic Xs are finally shipping!

And the packaging is ... Epic!

August 30th 2011 -  It's finally happened - Red has begun the Epic X production line.   As Stage 2 reservation holders we can't wait until we finally get ours!  

 And don't worry, we have some plans for accessories...

Few items to note:

1. After talking with our group, and after exhaustive work on supply chain issues... there are 18 parts (out of 18,000) of EPIC-X that come from Japan. More specifically... northern Japan factories. [snip] While we have a handful of production parts for EPIC-X and will deliver them before NAB as promised, we are now looking at how to make more EPIC-Ms available to EPIC-X customers because there will be a delay in EPIC-X production due to the "Japan-effect".  We still feel that we can deliver all EPIC-X orders by summer's end but it will be "back-end" weighted. April and May will be "light".

2.We are not going to be making a drive module for the DSMC program. [snip] we will be offering a trade in program for your RED DRIVES after NAB. We will give you 50% of the purchase price you paid for your RED DRIVE against the purchase of a 256GB SSD card. Hopefully this will help bring you guys forward into the SSD program.
